About Angelica
I came to birth work when I sought a hope-oriented way to contribute to women’s health. In a Google search, I came across the Madriella Doula Network, whose mission in part “has never been about making money in a birth industry career – it’s about women helping women through the most challenging and rewarding time in their lives. We are trying to foster a paradigm shift in our culture, to make Doula training as common as CPR/First Aid courses are.” This philosophy of information-sharing appealed to me and I signed up and began.
In January 2024, I attended my first birth, and to witness the emergence of a brand new human into the world filled me with reverence for the birthing body.
Since then, I have had more opportunities to witness birth and also support new parents in the form of overnight postpartum doula work. Sleep is essential for emotion regulation, and the sleep of new parents is especially precious due to the breadth of their new responsibilities.
That’s a little bit of how I came to be doing this work and also about the scope of services that I offer.
